Meet Olivia Wilson, a junior communication and leadership for nonprofit organizations and graphic design major at SNU.

Olivia noted she did not have much of a personal faith before coming to school. But within just a week of being at SNU, Olivia suffered a severe knee injury and began to take her faith seriously. She said, “I really felt like God was whispering to me, and I felt his presence. From then on, I focused on having a relationship with God.” Since taking her faith seriously, she has been baptized and spoken at Kingdom Come (a student-led chapel service) and BFC. Additionally, she has faithfully led a small group for students on the SNU campus to grow in their faith together as she has continued to share her testimony.

Olivia began in an elementary education program to pursue this passion but felt God was maturing her calling. She said, “I have really big dreams of opening up my own nonprofit for foster care kids and families, so I transitioned into the communication and leadership for nonprofit organizations major.” Olivia loves that her major allows her to “collaborate, communicate, and design” to work towards a common goal. “This major allows me real-life experience working with people in nonprofits. It’s never easy, but I had this goal before I even came here, knowing I wanted to work in that field. I now feel like I could go out and start something for myself.”

After graduation, Olivia plans to work in foster care and with nonprofit organizations. Olivia has the dream of a mission “to restore and reunify families.” Even though these dreams are big, Olivia has tangible plans to make them happen.

Olivia believes that none of her dreams would have been possible without SNU. She says, “My professors have been great. They have poured into me and helped me expand the way I think. I now think more critically and have a wider perspective because of how I was stretched and challenged by them. SNU is truly a one-of-a-kind place where God knew I was meant to be!”

SNU is SO proud of Olivia, and we cannot wait to see how her future unfolds and what God has in store for her and her dreams.⚡️

Such a beautiful and awesome young lady!!

Love this! Way to go Olivia!

What a great story! You're amazing, Olivia! And you serve an amazing God!

Yay Olivia! This is such an area of need!! There are already a ton of foster care resources to foster parents, but not nearly enough resources to help reunify and restore families! I can’t wait to see what you do! What a testimony you have!

🤭💚⚡️

If she wants to come to KC we have lots of openings. Cornerstonesofcare.org
